To be successful in work and at home, personal health and wellness are two important aspects that need your investment during your time at UNT at Frisco. Students, staff and faculty are provided with state of the art resources at UNT at Frisco to support a movement towards better mental health, physical health, and lifelong practice of finding a balance between the two. 

Fitness Center

The Fitness Center is located on the first floor of Frisco Landing. Free for all students enrolled in at least 1 in person class, the fitness center offers a variety of free weights, kettle bells, bands, stability balls and more! In addition to free weights, visitors can take advantage of cardio machines including Treadmills, Stairmaster, Rowing Machines, and Peloton Bikes.

UNT Counseling and Testing Services 

UNT Counseling and Testing Services (CTS) provides mental health services to all currently enrolled UNT students for the Denton and associated satellite campuses. CTS consists of two inter-connected services: Counseling services and Professional & Academic testing. For counseling services, we offer self-help resources, online peer-to-peer support, group therapy, drop-in workshops, and individual counseling. All those services are open to currently enrolled UNT students. 

 Mental Health Counseling Resources

  • Individual Counseling: Individual counseling appointments can be in-person, at either the Denton or Frisco campus, or virtually, using our HIPAA compliant videoconferencing platform via Zoom. We currently have at least one clinician present two days a week for in-person counseling appointments at the Frisco campus. The specific days can vary from semester to semester, but generally will remain consistent once set for each semester. Please Contact the Counseling Center and ask for Frisco availability for in-person appointments.  
  • Counseling Groups and Workshops: CTS offers multiple counseling groups and workshops throughout the fall and spring semesters. Though many of the in-person groups and workshops are conducted on our Denton campus, some of our workshops are offered virtually, so please visit the workshop/group listing on our website for up-to-date information. 

A dedicated counselor serves Frisco each semester, but their office days vary. Call 972.369.7100 for dates and times. 

Testing Services

  • Professional and Academic Testing: For Professional & Academic testing , our testing center offers test proctoring services to our DFW community. All in-person testing is in the Gateway Center, room 140, on the Denton campus. Professional and Academic testing can be scheduled through our center’s scheduling platform, RegisterBlast . Please contact Gateway Testing Center if you need further information. 
  • TSI (Texas Success Initiative): For our UNT Frisco students needing TSI for enrollment, Frisco offers select testing dates for in person testing at Frisco Landing. TSI testing is also offered with a remote proctoring option via Zoom. TSI testing can be scheduled through our center’s scheduling platform, RegisterBlast . Please contact Gateway Testing Center if you need further information.

Student Health and Wellness Center

The Student Health and Wellness Center in Chestnut Hall, on the Denton Campus, offers a variety of services to students and a reduced cost. Some of these include:

  • Dietetic Consultations
  • Women's Health & Gynecology
  • ADD / ADHD therapy and treatment
  • Laboratory testing
  • X-ray

Student Health Insurance

UNT provides students with affordable access to healthcare. If you need coverage, you can join the UNT Student Health Insurance plan. The UNT Insurance plan can be used at any doctor's office that accepts United Health Care Student Resources. Visit unt.myahpcare.com to learn about benefits, costs, and terms.

UNT Speech and Hearing Clinic

The UNT Speech and Hearing Center provides professional diagnostic and treatment for the UNT community in speech-language pathology and audiology.
