What to Expect at Orientation

Orientation helps you get ready for your start at UNT at Frisco. During the program, you will meet faculty, staff, and classmates, connect with current students, learn about campus resources, and receive academic advising to prepare for class registration. Required Steps Before Orientation

Before attending orientation, all first-year and transfer students must have their Texas Success Initiative (TSI) status confirmed. You must either:

  • Meet college readiness standards in Math and English (Reading & Writing) through the state-approved TSI Assessment, or

  • Submit official documentation showing you qualify for a TSI exemption.

If your TSI status is not verified before orientation, your course registration may be delayed.

Students who do not meet the required scores must complete developmental coursework to become TSI compliant. If you need to take the TSI Assessment, complete it before your scheduled orientation session.
