Career Services for Students

Finding and navigating your career in and post college can be stressful if you don't know where to start.  Career Services are here to help you find your starting point and advance towards your career of choice. Career and professional development workshops are frequently available each semester. Check the UNT at Frisco Events Calendar to see what's coming up next.

Handshake

Handshake is an online system that matches UNT students with employers, manages appointments with our career coaches, and allows students to RSVP for job fairs and numerous other career resources. UNT at Frisco provides employment to its students to help prepare for the “next steps” in finding a career. To see what jobs are currently available to UNT students, login into Handshake.

Interviewing

UNT at Frisco offers workshops that cover the basic interviewing tips and tricks. Students can schedule a mock interview to prepare for an upcoming interview or practice getting comfortable with Interviewing. After the mock interview, you will receive feedback that will benefit your interview style and strategies.

Big Interview

The questions “Tell me about yourself?” and ‘What's your greatest weakness?” can seem challenging, especially if you have not had many experiences with interviewing. Big Interview can help you get experience answering questions from the comfort of your own home.

LinkedIn With UNT

LinkedIn is a powerful tool to aid you in building your professional network while you are at UNT at Frisco. If you don't have a LinkedIn, now is the time to join. Once you have created a profile, be sure to join the UNT Career Center's group!

Navigating Your Career

Finding a job is one hurdle, but actively navigating and understanding what you want to do after graduation is another. The Career Center has the tools you need to help you determine what “path” you want to take after your time with UNT at Frisco comes to an end.

MyPlan is an online service that provides the support and strategies you need to help you decide what career would be the best fit after college based on your previous careers, your values and personality, the colleges you have attended, and the major(s) that you are actively enrolled in. Career Readiness Competencies

Career Readiness Competencies are a series of eight different core competencies that the University hopes to develop in students before they graduate. These eight competencies, as defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), allow students to demonstrate their career readiness to future employers and to feel confident in applying for positions in or out of their focus of study.

Mean Green Mentors is a program that connects the North Texas Family to current students for mentorship and career development.
